The Sun: There's an ad for that

Steve Riddle's picture

I hold no brief for the Sun, but have to admire this advert (released online in honour of their 40th anniversary)

It is indeed a brilliant ad...

it's just a shame it's advertising such utter garbage (apart from the sports pages, which are quite good).

agreed -

agreed, there's a yawning gap between the ad and the product. Never bought a copy in my life and don't expect to be doing so on the strength of the ad, but virally it's very effective...

The S*n...

...for people who are too f*cking stupid to use an iPhone.

You may be missing the point

The ad flatters viewers that they understand the limitations of an iPhone.
By the way, what gave you the idea for the asterisk?

This being a (generally) polite board...

...I thought it better to censor any offensive words.

Hang on

Isn't there normally something on page three that wasn't shown in the advert?

Also I'd take issue with their definition of "news" but that's as may be.

Is it just me

or is the accent of the speaker rather at odds with that of the Sun's overall readership? Not that it matters...

Pure

snobbery

I tried it

There was a problem with reception in Liverpool.
