The spitting image of...

Just watched the latest 1976 Top Of The Pops (anyone else still following this? Pretty grim) and I just realised that in that pretty well known clip of Elton John and Kiki Dee singing Don't Go Breaking My Heart, Elton is the absolute spitting image of.... Robbie Williams. Just the look on his face, the dancing, the comedy mugging, etc. Even the voice, come to that.
Looks like Robbie has studied this clip quite closely over the years.

But I remember the waggish voiceover artist on Channel 4's Top Ten show which featured this, referring to the video's "bleak symbolism".
By the way, having just seen last week's edition of TotP '76, I notice The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's fourth - fourth! - appearance with Boston Tea Party. Not bad for a record which peaked at number 13.

Every girl in my school year seemed to copy her hair/dungarees ensemble that year too. So I'm not the only one.

I'd always heard
that her real name was Pauline Matthews.
BTW I hope you don't think that's advertising.
