The Spectacular spinning songbook

Steve Turner's picture

tour by Elvis Costello and the Imposters is finally coming to UK in May 2012. A cause for celebration in this household. Know Dogfaced boy will be there - give us a shout DFB and will see if we can meet up. I will obviously be doing the Birmingham gig and hopefully the Albert Hall too.

The account he gives of the '86 shows

in the Blood & Chocolate sleevenotes is hilairious. A fantastic idea that all artists should adopt.

I can't wait

We've already discussed basing a London holiday around the Albert Hall gig. So glad I'm doing to get to see this.

At bloody last

they've left room for more than 1 London show

I shall be doing that, Birmingham, Cambridge and Baisingstoke. Maybe Brighton as well.

I love that the NME

have printed the following as a statement of fact

"Costello donated the original Spinning Songbook wheel to the Hartlepool Museum Of Showbusiness Machinery but the new one has been reconstructed from the original blueprints."

Got ticket from Cambridge

standing - so should be a different vibe to the other sit down shows

Can't get decent seats (ie good for sound n taping) at other venues in presale so will wait til Friday. The RAH in particular has v weird allocation.

EDIT got row F for Brum, 1st row is the £120 VIP tickets I notice. Git! Not that I want to be that close anyways.
