There's probably an obvious answer to this, but does anyone have any tips on how I can give myself the best chance of getting a ticket, legally and ethically?
I always miss these must-see, once-in-a-lifetime gigs seemingly through being the only human being at work on the morning the tickets go on sale (I hear the "Our Tune" music striking up). For Tom Waits I spent an awkward half hour on the phone (in a classroom cupboard, while children remained uneducated), only to find out that they'd sold out in the first five minutes.
I can already hear the rumbling hooves of impending disappointment...
...that there will be tickets a-plenty outside on the night. Chance it and if you hold your nerve till near showtime you will get one at face value (and with no booking fee or P&P).
I had a spare ticket for Morrissey's return at the RAH in 2002 - I literally could not give it away. And that had sold out in minutes.
I noted...
... that the press contact for the tour is Manics chum and publicist Mrs Terri Hall.

The Specials - "heralded by
Blur, Lilly Allen and The Enemy"...oh dear, that doesn't paint a particularly exciting picture of their legacy does it?
Jerry Dammers
Still holding out then.
Can I see the Specials, please?

They'll play there, I bet.
