The Mythical Hank Williams Christmas Album
Posted by el hombre malo on 24 December 2009 - 9:32am.

I love Christmas music - Elvis Presley, Aimee Mann, Low, Dr John, The Roches, Evan Johns & The H-bombs ... One night in the pub while discussing the daftness of it with a similarly-afflicted friend, we were talking about the Christmas albums we'd like to hear.
We realised that Hank Williams missed the chance, but would have been a great candidate - and we started concocting the titles of songs that should be on it.
This was some years ago, and I can only remember a handful :
Twinkle, Twinkle, Lonesome Star
Christmas Eve In Jail
My Dad Calls Another Man Sonny
Daddy's Drinking Our Christmas
Can the Massive suggest any other pining seasonal tunes that would fit?

My Dad calls Another Man Sonny
Surely the original My Son Calls Another Man Daddy would make the perfect lament for Joseph?
I once spent a Christmas afternon listening to Hank Williams 40 Greatest Hits. I don't recommend it for engendering festive cheer.
How about
I Heard Them Lonesome Sleighbells?
Or...
Saint Nick Stole My Pony
Silent Night (in Jail)
Them Jingle Bells Don't Jingle For Me
My, not very imaginative, list
Take these Snow Chains from my Car
Cold, Cold Weather
Message to Santa
Christmas Shopping
Umm...
Give A Quart of Whiskey To That Poor Orphan Boy In The Snow.
two more
Bethlehem, Louisiana
and
Nazareth, Texas
