Can I be the first to point out that in your rant at the Beeb re: spelling, you've, er, spelled/spelt 'schweinhund' incorrectly? :-)
(And before there is another debate, either spelled or spelt are permissible)
But...
...I'm neither the BBC nor German. So meh. And I prefer the (correct) archaic spelling, as used in my OP.
