The International Massive

Travis Bickle's picture

I see the call has gone out to the NZ Massive, which has got me thinking just how many of us here aren't based in the UK.

So, if you're not there, where the hell are you?

I'm in Sunny Singapore, living in Geylang, working in Tanjong Pagar.

Well I know

there's a good gang of us from Ireland.

Ah yes indeed - a nice cup of tea.

Depending on the time of week, Dublin, Cork or Waterford.

How about a Dublin Massive meet for a nice cup of tea and a hang sandwich. Can only do midweek mind.

Ger The Boptist | 27 April 2010 - 11:41am

dublin midweek would hardly work for me...

but might i suggest to the rest of you that you need not book a room in a pub or anything...just all agree to wear this

and the job's a good 'un

You jammy get

Living in Singapore! I lived there for a while when I was younger, and it's a great place. I have only been awake for about 15 minutes and I am already pissed off, looking out of the window at grey clouds. Still, at least I can go to the Sunderland game on Sunday, so there are some plus points.

Victoria

A Dubliner through and through, but living large way down in sunny Melbourne. The only downside as far as I can tell? Just received the Bob Dylan cover Word issue today.

I live in the south of Sweden

In a city called Växjö. I can´t pronounce it either.

I'm in the South of Italy, where I've lived since leaving uni 25 years ago. It's racist, corrupt, small-minded, backward and culturally dead... but the weather's great!

Belgium

People saying a hung parliament leads to weakness in government, just look at Belgium. Well, we've had no governement for the best part of a couple of years over here and doing just fine thanks Mr Cameron.

No government and 400 beers...

...what's not to like?

Japan

Lived in Tokyo for 17 years now. Has a few downsides (like anywhere) but generally a nice place to live.

1
James | 27 April 2010 - 1:40pm

I would go so far as to say

Tokyo is the best place I have ever lived. I spent two years living in Azabujuban and miss it daily

Southwest corner of, deep in the rurals. Less than thirty miles from where "Crazy" Ed Gein lived. That's how we roll around here, yo.

not as far, nor as exotic as

not as far, nor as exotic as some of you ..

France for the last 21 years, though I first lived here in the mid-seventies.

It's like everywhere else, some good, some bad, some infuriating, some baffling.

Am 60 miles south of Paris, out in the sticks, but still within striking distance, should there be a good reason - like a Richard Thompson or an Orchestra Baobab gig.

Was listening to the commentary on the Somerset v Essex cricket match today and there were e-mails from San Francisco, Istanbul, Australia, Spain etc. and it made me feel good that technology had enabled us all to follow our passions & get in touch with like-minded people, much like the Word web-site (even though some members have less than reverence for Richard Thompson or Capt. Beefheart or other old Zigzag faves.)

Am on holiday for the rest of the week, with a big list of stuff to be done in the garden & temperatures due to be 26C for the next couple of days - wonderful.

Goodnight all, wherever you may be.
