1. Christmas Song and Artist
2. Christmas Album (Single artist)
3. Christmas Album (Compilation)

Go on then.
1. Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses
2. Carols From King's - Choir of King's College, Cambridge
3. pass
4. It's A Wonderful Life
5. Holy Night - The West Wing
Festive five
1. Wizzard's "I Wish It Could be Christmas Everyday" (honourable mention to The Waitresses though.)
2. Phil Spector's "A Christmas Gift To You" (unless everyone else thinks it's a compilation...)
3. Er... if pushed I'll say "Easy Christmas" (a 90's lounge compo)
4. "It's A Wonderful Life"
5. "Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads"
Andrew Preview!
1. "Listen The Snow Is Falling" by Yoko Ono
2. Another vote for the Phil Spector album.
3. A CD I burned myself featuring about 14 versions of "Last Xmas." It gets a bit repetitive and I ought to do a 10 minute highlights version but some of the covers are great, including one by - I kid you not - a cheesy listening band and some cats where the vocals should be.
4. ET. IIRC, it was first shown on TV as a Xmas blockbuster and I've always associated it with Xmas. It's a lovely film.
5. Morecambe & Wise 1971 Xmas show featuring a guest appearance by Andrew Preview.
Ok....
1, little Drummer Boy - Bowie/Crosby
2, Mr. Spector again
3, the other side of Christmas
4, Wonderful Life again
5, The Office Xmas special.
Why of course.
1. Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis
Edit: Curses. Of course it's Fairytale of New York. How could it not be. Thank you AndyPage, below.
2. Leon Redbone's Christmas Island (with a shout out to the John Fahey record recommended by DH about this time last year)
3. A self-made CD containing jazzy versions of trad tunes, as above. Sorry to be so boring
4, Scrooged
5. The Cheers Christmas special where all of Norm's Santa Claus buddies get together for a beer
1. Keeping the Dream Alive -
1. Keeping the Dream Alive - Freiheit
2. A Charlie Brown Christmas - Vince Guaraldi Trio
3. Phil Spector A Christmas Gift
4. Miracle on 34th Street - the original, not the Dicky Attenborough remake.
5. Morecambe & Wise Christmas 1971 - "I'm playing all the right notes"
1. It's A Big Country -
1. It's A Big Country - Davitt Sigerson
2. Can't think of many so I'll go for Aimee Mann - One More Drifter - I consider the Spector album to be a compilation.
3. Ze Christmas Record
4. It's a Wonderful Life
5. There were some fine Christmas episodes of Happy Days.
Bah Humbug!
1. Santa's Secret (Santa Claus Is Smoking Reefer) -Johnny Guanieri & Slam Stewart
2. Spector'a Xmas Album
3. A Very Special Christmas - 1987 charity album with Run DMC, U2, the Boss, Madge n others doing covers - some good, some bad but all festive
4. Gremlins
5. Porridge - both of em but "Those Desperate Hours" at a push
and single sketch - Slade in Residence at Christmas
My choices are (I think)...
1. The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York (close 2nd - Low's Just Like Christmas)
2. Low - Christmas
3. XFM - It's a Cool Cool Christmas
4. Scrooge (Alastair Sim version from 1951)
5. The Office (Porridge close 2nd, both of them!)
+1 for Aimee
1 River - Joni Mitchell
2 One More Drifter in the Snow - Aimee Mann
3 Christmas With The Rat Pack
4 The Muppets Christmas Carol
5 Only Fools and Horses (the one where Del's son is born, I think it was a Christmas episode)
Merry
1. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love
2. Christmas In The Heart - Bob Dylan
3. 'Papa ain't no Santa Clause, Mama ain't no Christmas Tree'
4. It's a Wonderful Life
5. Dinnerladies
Lots of great Xmas tracks to choose from
but my current favourite is
Mary Gauthier - Christmas In Paradise.
Current favourite festive album:
Bugge Wesseltoft - It's Snowing On My Piano.
As far as Christmas compilations go, IMO you cannot better
A Christmas Gift For You - Phil Spector.
Not actually a Christmas Movie (Thanksgiving) but I'm sure it's been shown on UK Xmas TV. Anyway, it has the same vibe and it's extremely funny:
Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
It has to be Fletch & Godber, when it comes to Christmas comedy specials
Porridge: 2nd Xmas Special, The Desperate Hours.
"It's Ireland's biggest lingerie section..."
1. Fairytale Of New York / Pogues + Kirsty
2. Don't really have one for this. Enjoying a Tony Bennett one at the moment though. If I can have an EP then Slow Club Christmas, Thanks For Nothing.
3. Blue Christmas (music mag comp from about 5 years ago)
4. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
5. Father Ted: A Christmassy Ted
My 5
1. Fairytale Of New York
2. Joy to The World - Pink Martini
3. A Christmas Gift To You - Phil Spector
4. It's a Wonderful Life (or The Muppet Christmas Carol)
5. The Wrong Trousers - a Wallace & Gromit special
