The crisp snap of a fridge-cold Kit-Kat...

DougieJ's picture

Always a pleasure. And taken to new heights today when one of the fingers was all chocolate. Life doesn't get much better, I'm sure you'll agree...

Just had a caramel one

Beautiful man, get involved.

Not just caramel...

but Caramac, surely?

Caramac

The Caramac special was the big single finger one wasn't it?

Nope.

I believe you're, er, thinking about the Chunky Kit-Kat. The Caramac limited edition was, I believe, a regular four-finger Kit-Kat but with added Caramac magic...

By the way, this brand extension thing has got(ten) a tad ridiculous in the case of Kit-Kat, has it not? Orange, mint, Caramac, dark, old-school two-finger with foil wrapping, chunky, ice cream....

Personally, I prefer the classic four-finger milk choc version, but it must be cold. Nothing more disappointing than a half-melting Kit-Kat...

The 70% choc kit kat

is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in the way of confectionary!
Agree with you about the coldness, though. Mine are always in the fridge too.

Kit-Kats are hugely popular in Japan

and are available in all sorts of odd flavours - Strawberry Cheesecake, Green Tea, Almond, Black Honey, etc etc

That's interesting

I was in Singapore once and came across a Red Wine flavoured KitKat. (Didn't buy it though!)

Just caramel flavoured taste I'm afraid

A caramac coating would be the mutt's nuts.

I knew I didn't dream it...

A limited edition Caramac KitKat bar was released in the UK in 2005 and due to popular demand it was brought back in 2007.

How about

the pop of a fresh jar of Gold Blend followed by that aroma, then the crisp snap of a fridge cold KitKat

All chocolate finger

Noone deserves such munificence.

... except for the proctologist.

(Just make sure there's only the one hand on your shoulder)

A veritable golden ticket

I still remember the one I got 20 years ago...

As Tom Jones might say

It's not unusual. I reckon that there's probably one of them in every couple of boxes. I used to have a 4 finger bar every day and I used to have at least one solid finger* a month.

*Not a euphemism

You sir

are the KitKat equivalent of a rain god.

Refridgerated chocolate is wrong.

You may as well have a pint of warm lager to wash it down!

Refridgerated Wispa Gold

Better! :-)

1
Happy Castle | 1 December 2011 - 10:43pm

Ah, now ...

Never liked Wispa - bubbles too small. And then Aero went and reduced the bubble size. Stopped buying.

KitKats

I gave up eating KitKats, as a futile protest, when they changed to a plastic wrapper. Used to love unpeeling the paper, and then "snatting" a finger away, with or without foil, depending on mood.

I think that chocolate like KitKat, Aero and Mars Bars are all the better for being chilled, but proper, high cocoa chocolate should be room temperature. Mmmm, Valrhona...

Over a day old this post

and nobody has done the Joan Collins joke - possibly Katie Price these days, who knows.

I commend you all on your restraint.

*googles 'Joan Collins, Kit Kat'*

Oh.

Thanks.

The crisp snap of a fridge-cold Kit-Kat...

what a glorious phrase, I keep seeing it in the recently updated column and am attracted to it like a fly to treacle.

Thanks!

I think I may have been channelling (see what I did there?) Masefield...

Dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smoke stack,
Butting through the Channel in the mad March days,
