Hmmm...I shall listen out for the Scream's forthcoming album then, 'The Devil's Horns (They Ain't Half Sharp')', containing songs such as 'Keep The Soul Fires Burning', 'Giro' and 'Blow 'til You're Blue In The Face'...

What a cracking little tune! I had the Jetset EP that had that on back in the mid 80s: never failed to put a smile on my face! Just what I need on a rainy Wednesday!
From the bonus disc on Elvis Costellos "Armed Forces" I have "Wednesday Week".
I also have the Canadian band The Guthries debut cd "Off Windmill" which has a track called "Wednesday Night". Great alt country/americana cd. Sadly, the band are no more.
Popped over to youtube to fetch Stephen Duffy’s wonderful Wednesday Jones (Dixie version) and felt genuinely aggrieved that it wasn’t on there. How spoilt we’ve become. It’s a lovely song and I’d put up one of those sound-only links, but I’ve no idea how to.
Never mind. Given the title of nicodemus’ thread it‘s high time this had a spin ...
This one could be dropped in anywhere (not Saturday, though, for some reason) but since this is "Difficult Wednesday" I'll pop it in here. Apologies if it's already been nominated in one of the previous daily threads...
Simon & Garfunkel
Hadn't thought of this...
... Nice one.
A sting in the tail....
Would Seven Days by Sting make your job easier if harder to listen to?
Don't think I could handle...
... that; but thanks for the offer.
Wednesday morning at 5 O'clock....go for it Kate
awful strings in the background
If it's Wednesday you know what time it is!
Always up for a bit of Tori
Tori Amos Wednesday live
Last one from me for Wed...to avoid being greedy and too clever
Emiliana Torrini "Wednesday's Child"...i do lover her voice..
Hmmm...I shall listen out

Sorry...
...wrong thread!!!!
Though I'll throw in The Undertones' 'Wednesday Week' while I'm here!!!
Thought Frasers thread randomiser....
...had kicked in, as per my suggestion.
I think it's the Australian Green Day
although for some reason they call themselves Eskimo Joe. Wouldn't Inuit Joe be more PC?
It's The Jetset
Love The Jetset!
What a cracking little tune! I had the Jetset EP that had that on back in the mid 80s: never failed to put a smile on my face! Just what I need on a rainy Wednesday!
They were the Jetset
And they blew my mind. I still have it with the Beatles fanclub pastiche "Has anyone seen Stanley?". Now all I need are some Direct Hits.
Ah The Direct Hits...
...Blow Up is one of my all time favourite albums. Still listen to it regularly.
Mid 80s mod scene alert!
Call security: there's two of us in the same thread!
Shush.
We'll be outted and have to return our tonic hipsters, inky Extraordinary Sensations and Vespa PK 50s to Headmaster Hepworth or Headboy Lowry.
Ooh Extraordinary Sensations...
...that takes me back...I've still got some old copies of that tucked away somewhere
Here’s the great Modesty Blaise by the Direct Hits

And if you’re not familiar with it, check out Chris Hunt’s fab little record label. Goodies galore.

Cracking tune!
Modesty's a fantastic little tune. Is it Chris Hunt that does tangerine? Didn't know that. Another person involved in the 80s mod scene that did good!
Anybody who likes mid 60s pop as it went psych or XTC or Squeeze should investigate The Direct Hits straightaway.
Anyway: now back to Wednesday!
Tuesdays Gone.....
...therefore it must be Wednesday!

Wednesday...
was the same as Tuesday wasn't it : heart attack?
(apologies if this has been mentioned on other days, and if someone was actually saving it for Friday!)
Rich
perhaps we need a follow up thread
to identify songs covering all 7 days in one song...as I had Seven Days by Sting..NOT in my collection you understand!,,,,
Is it Friday already?
Friday on My Mind also contains Wednesday just like the Cure song above
THE DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS
had a song called "Wednesday" on their "A Blessing And A Curse" album. It's a very good song on an excellent album.
