Terrible Tribute Bands

halfaperson's picture

With the current deluge of tribute bands there is no doubt some kind of pecking order. However browsing you tube i beleive i have found the worst Smiths tribute band ever.

I give you, the Citizen Smiths

Pretty average

I thought.

Drumming was somewhat lumpen, so that was accurate.

Christ if you thought that

Christ if you thought that was average you must have seen some shockers

The drummer...

is no Bernard Purdie. Supremely unfunky.

Very few (if any)

drummers have the swing of the Pretty one.

Back of the net

Those pelvis gyrations at about the minute mark were worryingly reminiscent of Alan Partridge dancing for Tony Hayers.

Crappy Smiths tribute, you say?

...this one's pretty poor. They've made a half decent stab at the tremelo groove, but they should certainly get rid of the singer:

It's not *that* bad is it?

If that was loud through a PA system it would probably sound alright after a couple of (vegetarian) lagers. They don't look the part but the singer does a reasonably good Mozzer.

Not as good as this one though:

I agree with you on the tribute band, they weren't bad at all.

Speaking as a big fan of The Smiths I would happily watch them after a few reds.

Whilst I

sneakingly respect the efforts of the singer to copy La Moz's moves and mannerisms his attempts are rendered surplus to requirements on account of having a back-up band of blokes impersonating personality-free Sleeper Blokes/Landfill Indie types
