Bruised Mike's picture

I am distraught. I can download the latest podcast to my computer but the iPod is not accepting it when I drag it over, or if it is it is hiding it somewhere.

Can anyone help?

When it happened to me...

I've had that happen to me but when I tried another ipod it was fine. When I happened to me, the podcast was just sitting alongside all my music - just browse to Word under artists and you may find it.

right click on the podcast

sometimes podcasts are not formatted correctly for the ipod. When you right click in this case there should be an option to 'create ipod or iphone version'. This may be the problem, though I've found this is usually for video podcasts.

Satan's own Sudoku

iTunes can be Satan's own Sudoku sometimes, it is so difficult. This very thing has happened to me a couple of times and I have resigned myself to "restoring" my Pod to factory settings and loading it up again

Thanks to all

I have not solved the problem yet and am getting Word Podcast withdrawal symptoms (or is it Swine Flu?).

I've always wondered what happens when you restore the iPod to factory settings. Do you lose your entire library?

Even more irritating

is that I have been able to download another podcast OK (Frank Skinner with Nick Hancock if anyone is interested). So I am even more frustrated especially as I have a soft spot for Jackie de Shannon's music.

Have you, for whatever reason...

...got it set to auto-sync instead of manual? If you drag and drop onto the iPod when set to auto, nothing will happen. Might be an idea to check the settings, although from what you've said other podcasts seem quite co-operative. So no, I've not got a clue really. FWIW the podcast file itself gave me no problems. Perhaps you could try downloading it again...

So now

I have deleted Word podcast 94 from the Pod, dragged it over from the computer again - and all is fine. This is really mystifying, it seems that my machine really doesn't like #95. Pity.

Sleep easy

After all this fuss and bother it has now downloaded OK. Thanks for all the help. I feel rather pathetic actually.

Playlist

If it happens again, drag it into a playlist (either an existing one or create a new one) and it should appear in that when you've synchronised.
Glad to see a thread not about Dylan by the way!
