peterthecook, I'm heartily impressed with your dad's 'double' at the top of your list.
I think my pa might have pioneered the 'repeat name mix-up'.
He used to be a general assistant (ie help keep the building running, fix stuff) where I worked. This also included doing the post, which in the circumstances is obviously an appalling job/skill mis-match.
He confided to me, 'It's bloody hard, this. I mean, months now and I still get the two Dave Wilsons mixed up.' The blokes in question were called Dave Williams, sadly.
