Subscriber Cover Letter

Just wondering if the cover letter, written by Mr.H, has been discontinued, or have I just upset someone?!! Haven't got it for the last two issues!

Well, I got three in my last issue...
... so maybe I have yours.
Three?!!...
I just want one!!!
Speaking of which..
..I subscribed last week but I don't know if the first issue I, going to receive will be the current one with Kate Bush on the cover or the next one.. I mailed Word HQ last week but haven't got an answer yet..
Anyone able to help?

if i recall correctly, you're in the Republic of Ireland as am I. I've not recieved the letter either - i think that since they changed things such that the mailing label for 'foreign' subscribers became one and the same sheet that Mr Hs epistle goes onto, we've lost that wee perk!
Mr Connolly
Your subscription will start with the next issue (March) which will be mailed to you on 6th Feb. If you would like it to start with the current (Kate Bush) issue, call our subs house on 01795 592 853 and they will sort for you.
Thanks for subscribing to our magazine.
But we got it...
.. when it went onto the "one-sheet" before these last two issues.
[this is a reply to Ivan's post]
we did and
you're right; obviously how else could i have known that it went to one sheet in the first instance?!
I still reckon the two things aren't unrelated; I've *also* noted that my sub copies are turning up a little bit earlier since the letter has been dropped...
In other words, we know the letter is still written. We know that people outside the UK don't get it. We know that people outside the UK don't get their copy by the Royal Mail but instead its outsourced to an international deliverty company. Perhaps they've found that it takes ages to get Young Mr Hs letter off the photocopier in Islington and down to the international distribution centre depot!
I'm sure one of the Dev Hell lads will shed light on it in due course!
Nicodemus - are you in the UK or outside? If you're in the UK, then consider all i've said to be hoary load of old cobblers...
Dear Ivan,
... I am in the Republic.
right - now we're getting somewhere.
i think they just don't like us Micks...
Can't imagine why, after all we've given them...
I wanted to...
post some images, but don't have a clue how to do it!!!
Don't forget...
That's what...
I wanted to post!!
replace the ( with < and the ) with >
(img src="http:www.urlofphotoyouwant.com/blah.gif")
I did it!!.....
woohoo!!!
That'll teach 'em...
... to leave the cover letter out of the Irish subscriber's edition !!!!
Oh and choose a small picture 300 pixel width or less
Same here...
I got it when it was on one sheet as well. I miss it now!
Still haven't received my February issue...
.. and yes, I've mailed Jerry and he is kindly looking into the problem for me.
However, this is the 2nd time (in only my first year subscribing) my mag has not been with me, ages after it has arrived in my local newsagents.
Just don't know if its worth subscribing from Ireland anymore?
my kate bush one landed last tuesday...
are you in a very remote part of Ireland; i mean, is there an outside chance that there are old codgers a few miles away who are still waiting to take potshots at Michael Collins and any other Free Staters who might come their way...
i'm not trying to be funny...well, i guess i am a bit, but i've found that the delivery times to Ireland have improved and it's only on *this* subscription that i've found it to be worth it...
Nope...
... I live in a medium sized town.
Been subscribing since June.
It never arrives before the 2nd thursday of the month (which it *always* does in my local newagent).
6 times it's arrived the following Tuesday and (now) twice it's been ridicuously late.
As a matter of interest, I also subscribe to another magazine from England and always receive it within 3 days of issue; but that is always simply delivered directly, i.e. it doesn't appear to take a trip to Germany first!
Will probably just go back to picking it up in my local shop, after my subscription expires, as I'll get to read it a lot sooner; and it'll take away the frustration of wondering when/if my copy will arrive.
It's a pity, really, as I know The WORD would rather have subscribers for their accounts; but the delivery method, to Ireland, is very poor.
