Stunning ads

DougieJ's picture

I don't work for the big G, I just stumbled across this series of ads for the Chrome browser and thought they were close to genius. That's all.

I can't belive it

I just sat through a 4mins 30sec advert for some software, I did not feel the urge to switch it off or fast forward at any time.

Before it I knew I didn't need Chrome, but now I'm off to download it. Must be genius...

I would recommend it.

Noticeably faster and more appealing visually than Internet Explorer - the other browser I am forced to use at work.

Highly creative

Adverts that are worth watching, that bear repeating and, hazah! make you want to investigate the product. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve with the Google OS.

Looks great but

I downloaded a previous version of it, and found that some sites, such as flight booking sites, seem to be only compatible with Internet Explorer as they recognised that IE wasn't being used, and refused to display properly or generally cooperate. As a result I went back to IE. I hope they've fixed that.

It's a bit annoying that the best visual creativeness

today tends to be in adverts. I suppose creativity needs to eat, but I just find it a bit sad.

So, yes, nice ad.

Another couple

Still breathtaking, to me. How I learned to stop worrying and love consumerism (as long as creative work like this is produced as a result I don't think it's a bad bargain!)

at the other end of the scale, I can vouch for the efficacy of 'naff' advertising, as I recently renewed my car insurance via a site whose name is burned into my consciousness through the straightforward means of having a fat tenor sing the brand name repeatedly in a very memorable fashion. I believe other comparison sites are available, but I haven't gone and compared them all
