Stop me if you've heard this one before - THE WORD mentioned in Australian press

Neil Walker's picture

(Apologies if someone's already posted this, etc, blah, blah, blah).

Imagine my surprise and delight to note our hallowed THE WORD magazine was credited here in Australia with the 'Gerry Rafferty was missing' scoop.

Appeared in print and online in the Sydney Morning Herald.

You can read it here:

Like much of the content of SMH,

that story was taken from The Guardian.

Speaking of Australia, though, it's pleasing to see The Word popping up in more and more newsagents every month.

Doesn't concern me too much though - I have a sub.

Man...

That must cost you a fortune! I've been a loyal buyer of the Word for many months now, but between my low income (I work in a CD shop, it's not exactly a money-spinner) and the $AUD23 cover price for the current air-freight issue, I'm struggling to afford the Word. I occasionally buy the older issues when they arrive on the cheap, which is still good, but once you've gotten into the current ones...

I feel guilty

Was a subscriber but can't afford the high price of an annual subscription which is even more expensive now due to the falling Aussie dollar (Also, it kind of annoyed me that the subscription issue was posted 2nd class so sometimes arrived after available in shops here). However, if THE WORD were to offer a monthly subscription for $22-ish per month I'd sign up for sure to support my favourite magazine by giving 'em the money directly. Finding it increasingly difficult to find the latest air freight issue in Australian newsagents/Borders stores as well. How about it, WORD? Good chance you'd get a lot more international subscribers.

So he was not missing after all

Wonder if he will do a Morrissey?

Well, he knew where he was.

In the same way as a lost key is only so until it is found. Lets hope he finds his cause, soon.
