Stones considering full-album gigs

Baskerville Old Face's picture

According to the Guardian report at http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/may/13/rolling-stones-full-album-gi... the Stones are thinking about a series of gigs playing whole albums from their back catalogue.

I was wondering which Stones album the Massive would like to hear live from end to end?

Beggars Banquet

No contest - it would be worth it just to hear Jigsaw Puzzle.

Wouldn't work

The Stones live can't do the The Stones, not like that anyway. On stage, Keith and Ron play what they like, which is vaguely in the same postal district as the tune, but that is as far as it goes. The idea that they would be tight, and have the discipline to Play The Album doesn't bear close inspection. Perhaps they could probably do from about Some Girls onwards, but who would want that ?

Mind you, The Counterfeit Stones might make a better fist of it.

I like your thinking

I hadn't considered going back quite that far - but the first one that popped into my head was 'Aftermath'.

Sticky Fingers

or Goat's Head Soup for me. But they'd have to sack Ronnie Wood, who they have been carrying for some time, and get Mick Taylor back. Could happen...
To do any of the Brian Jones-era stuff would be folly - they don't have that vibe any more.
