Steve Lillywhite CBE

Lunaman's picture

Hats off to Steve Lillywhite awarded a CBE today.
This is probably the first track I heard that he produced and I still love it today -
'India' - The Psychedelic Furs'

As ever

I'm appalled that the honours system still exists and appalled at guys I admire buying into it.

Fair comment

It's nonsense, isn't it? Yet it'll probably outlive us all.

The Sound of The Suburbs

My first Steve Lilywhite record was Sound Of The Suburbs.

I've always assumed Steve got the gig because he was related to drummer Adrian L.

I've seen that clip

loads of times and yet it always looks like someone's batty uncle spiked on acid at a wedding.

Apparently TV executive Peter Bazalgette...

who according to the BBC website was "pivotal in bringing Ground Force, Big Brother and Deal or No Deal to our screens" is to receive a knighthood.

Thoroughly deserved... (***starts to retch violently before projectile vomiting across living room onto TV***)
