Status Quo Or The Zutons?
This Saturday night I'm been sent off to Dalby Forest in North Yorshire to review the mighty Quo. I'm a virgin to the Quo live scene, what should I expect, apart from three chords and faded denims? Any Quo experts/fans out there? I only own one Quo live album and two seven inches; "In The Army Now" and "Rocking All Over The World". The Zutons are playing in the same forest the night before, who would you rather see. This:

Status Quo !
As long as it was the classic 1976 line-up of my first ever gig...
Otherwise,neither!
No contest
Abi Harding's legs are much better than Francis Rossi's or Rick Parfitt's (or most other people's come to that!) and her hair's in better condition although I'm guessing she can't poke a piece of string through her septum.
Quo will knock out the hits...
...in an uncomplicated, unfussy way. Their voices are shot, they don't really "rock" any more (and probably haven't done since about 1980), but you'll probably be entertained. They play all the hits, so you should recognise a fair few of the songs.
I love the Quo. I'm not sure why I do, but there's something so uncynical and meat and potatoes about them. Hell, I even liked their last album. Is that wrong?
Oh, and Down Down is one of the best heads-down rockers of all time.
My inlaws...
used to go and see the Quo in Bridlington when they lived there. By all accounts it was full of fans who clearly had been with them since the early days, a bunch of oldies who rocked away on their zimmers!! AS long as it's not too wet in the woods at the weekend I would have expected a good time.
You should try Piledriver, the only Quo album worth having before they got too dull. It has quite a few notes on it that they clearly discarded later in favour of their more limited repertoire of riffage.
No brainer
It has to be the Zutons - Quo are sadly well past their best. But if it was the original lineup touring at age 22 I'd be there like a shot (**hums lick from Caroline**)
