Spotted... David Hepworth
Posted by robram on 16 April 2009 - 6:22pm.
Walking through Borough Market this evening I spied the inestimable Mr H with, I can only assume, his good lady wife.
Couldn't resist stopping him to say how much I enjoy the Word podcasts.
They're recording a new one tomorrow, fact fans!
Swooning over!

I'm sure I saw him...
... presenting Animal 24:7 on BBC One last night.
Sure as heck sounded like him...
It's a good job it was the GLW
Or else we'd both be in trouble.
I figured as much
She seemed fairly used to a random stranger stopping you in the street!
Sorry, if I startled you, though. I'm not sure how often it happens, but it still must be quite odd.
I'm also going to go and see Crossbones Graveyard tomorrow - never knew it was there before now and it's spitting distance from the office.
Off Topic
I don't usually go south of the river on my infrequent trips to London, but I was there on Tuesday and if your in that area it's worth taking a five minute detour to visit the Crossbones Graveyard on Redcross Way. More a piece of vacant land than a graveyard as you would recognise it, but some locals have created a shrine to 'the outcast dead' on the gates and it's really quite moving: http://www.crossbones.org.uk/
There's no such thing as "off-topic"
I went there only this evening.

FT ran a good piece on it

Secret Britain

Not so secret now

Haunted In My Dreams
I saw David Hepworth in a dream, laughing maniacally whilst burning piles of mint condition Island Mott The Hoople LPs, and yelling 'I'll show you the life of the mind'.
Upon waking, I needed a few quick whiskeys to calm the nerves...
I saw him in
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Spotted
In other Word news I bumped in Paul Du Noyer striding majesticaly through Liverpool One shopping centre yesterday.
Probably buying a cravat
He does that most Fridays.
Mark Ellen
I frequently see Mark Ellen making his way through Chiswick on a dilapidated bicycle. He never wears a cycling helmet and, on the last occasion I saw him, displayed a cavalier attitude to the highway code by failing to stop at a red light.
Ellen Wheels...
...laughing in the face of danger, guffawing at the very mention of a Highway Code, pioneering a beard-focused market-downturn-defying 21st Century popular culture magazine available in mainstream retail outlets nationwide with a pigeon-post option for Rockall... All in a day's work for the Ellmeister!
