Spotify

Has anyone else tried the Beta of Spotify? I got my invite through today and have downloaded it and it seems, at first glance, to be great. Like a sort of cross between iTunes simplicity and Last FM. But with loads of tracks from the 4 majors and some indie stuff as well. All streamed for free.

You have to register and then wait for an invite to try the beta version but it seems great to me.

Some might claim that you can bypass the invite by going here:

I couldn't possibly comment.

Looks good but.....

.....I'm greeted with the message "not available in your country yet". Guess I'll have to dig out the proxy sites again......

Ive asked to be invited...

and now im waiting for them to have a sniff round and decide whether or not Im worthy.
Does this run alongside Last.fm or is it a case of having one or the other?

I reckon

its a lot easier to use than Last FM. Have tried Last FM but find it a faff and it keeps opening browser windows. This is just simple.

I have now tried it and

think it is 100 times better than Last FM, which I don't find particularly user-friendly. I am very impressed so far.

Spotify

Spotify has blown my mind. And had a negative effect on the amount of work I get done on the computer.

Spotify

Its pretty darned good but theres still a long way to go on the 'indie' side of things...that said I am listening to Huggy Bear's, ahem, masterpiece 'Weaponry Listens to Love' thanks to Spotify as I type this, so......
