Special Christmas podcast
Posted by David Hepworth on 24 December 2007 - 7:14pm.
A brief, alcohol-laced Christmas missive, committed to tape at the Word Christmas party just the other day.
That's all until next week when we present The Best Of The Hora!
Have a good Christmas.

Any chance
of a podcast each month where you talk about each track on the word CD? You could even put it into 15 seperate chunks (on the word website) and one could combine it with the CD into a itunes playlist.
It's a mad idea isn't it. Sorry.
Top Trumps?
Its the way forward - 'Most Q covers', 'Single most lyrical references to fifties pulp novels', 'Greatest number of articles by ex-bass players published in The Guardian', 'Most 'G' chords (no declensions or suspended fourths allowed)' - that sort of thing. And on these grounds my Rattlesnakes beat your Born To Run hands down. Frankly, I don't see anyone holding the Meatloaf cards coming out on top in this game....
Time outs
I'm getting server timeouts. Anyone successfully downloaded it?
Success
It just downloaded for me - probably a temporary issue with the host.
got it
Just downloaded it - the server was probably helping its sister wash up earlier.
Format change or similar?
I'm sure I'll get sneered at because I'm not using an iPod, but I've been having problems with the format of the past few podcasts; since the Zepcast, my Sony music player has been unable to play the podcasts (which I download from iTunes, and then convert using the Sony Sonicstage software). Prior to the Zepcast it'd all been well, and I don't have a similar problem with BBC podcasts... has there been some kind of change to the format of the podcasts, or is something amiss?
Any advice much appreciated - the only solution I've found is to burn the file onto a CD and then import it from there, but that's a long way round, and so I'd rather avoid it if possible.
Thanks!
Still Crazy
No Mark, it is called "Still Crazy" not Strange fruit (that was the name of the featured fictional band) and is one of the best rock band movies - recommended to all. Not that the field is crowded with good fictional rock band movies. Spinal Tap, errr, errr....
