"Sons of Anarchy" - Anyone?

Grant's picture

This is currently being shown on Five USA and it's fantastic. From the pen of Kurt Sutter, it's gripping, well acted with a whole host of well-rounded characters. It doesn't claim to have the scope of The Wire, but it's damn fine TV.

Caprica's shaping up quite nicely too.

Series 2

has already aired in the US, with Henry Rollins in the role of a white supremacist. It seems to have picked up very well from where it left off. For me it sort of treads the same territory as The Shield.

Can't wait for the series on terrestrial tv

so will be getting both on DVD. Not really followed The Shield, worth a punt?

The Shield - well worth a punt...

... I'd put it just behind the Sopranos and The Wire in terms of great entertainment - and I got the complete box set from Amazon for about £40 - and the box is like a police file, so you can pretend your a cop when your putting the DVDs on.

Well worth a punt

Michael Chiklis as Vic Mackey is excellent. Like SoA, it throws the traditional sense of good guy / bad guy up in the air.

*Edit*
Not sure when SoA Series 2 will air in the UK. If you or anyone else would like an early peek in the meantime, drop me a mail.

Vic Mackey

He's a very, very bad man. And he's the law.
The Shield was riveting and comes highly recommended from our house.
I'll have a look at Sons Of Anarchy. Thanks for the tip.

A fan

As a big fan of Sons (It's really good,Stick with it) and The Shield. I recommend both as i have done on numerous occasions on here. Kurt Sutter's blog is also very good.
The Final episode of the Shield is as good as TV gets,

Sons of Anarchy

absolutely knocked me on my arse...truly superb, grownup entertainment with no swearing or nudity but a shedload of moral ambiguity and violence. The show is character actor heaven, to boot. Bravo showed Series 1 last year as did RTE Two in Ireland and I cannot wait to see Series 2.
