Songs that make you go 'mmmmmm'
Posted by hazeyjane on 20 May 2010 - 11:51pm.
I was listening to a bit of Led Zeppelin the other day, which I haven't done for quite a while, and I had forgotten how unbelievably raw and sexy they were. "I'm gonna give you every inch of my love" - "yes please, Mr Plant, if you insist!" No wonder my 14 year old self found them thrilling and terrifying in equal measures.
Anyway, that got me thinking - what other songs make you think about the bad stuff? I'm not talking the obvious 'Je t'aime...moi non plus' type stuff, but proper up-against-the-bins-down-an-alley sauciness!
Come on Massive, you know you want to...

The One and Only mighty Whitehouse
mmmm...let's see, how about a bit of "My Cock's on Fire" leading to "Foreplay" followed by some "Total Sex" culminating in "I'm coming up your ass"?
As you may gather, there's not much equivocating going on.
Ugh Agh Gnnnnnn
Free - the band Led Zeppelin could have been.
They put the Rrrrr into raunchy.
"The men don't know
- but the little girls understand"
Howlin Wolf: "Back Door Man"
Kate Bush
Feel It
Boy, oh boy.
And for a bit more raunch
Goldfrapp - Twist
Put your dirty angel face
Between my legs
And knicker lace
Yes maam. Will there be anything else?
The B-side's pretty good as well
No Theremins were harmed during the recording of this song.
Phwoarrrrrr!!!!
mmm mmm mmm mmm
Not what you mean? oh well.
Hit me!
Goodness. Really? Um, are you sure?
Lordy Me.
Is it only me
who finds Tindersticks records deliciously sexy? Not in a Goldfrapp or Destiny's Child way, of course, but I think it fits the dank, behind-the-bins special breed of "romance"
This lot
have that dank, behind-the-bins special breed of "romance"
I love this song.
Sounds like...
...a satisfied woman.
I need a cold shower
after I listen to the title track from Lucinda Williams's Essence.
Speaking of whom
How about Right In Time? That has to be one of the most libidinous songs I've ever heard.
It is indeed
but as Lu is singing about pleasuring herself, it doesn't connect in quite the same way.
The one and only sexy song is...
...Al Green singing Simply Beautiful...
Musical foreplay that seals the deal!
Steady ladies...
Grace Jones - Pull up to my bumper
Of course when i was a wee lad i thought she was singing about parking a car.
Say what you mean, why doncha?
I'm not sure if this song has a hidden meaning
that was terrific
- never heard of these gals before - so thanks for the intro. Quick listen on Spotify - confirms that they are a real find.
If I had someone to be raunchy with...
this would set the mood. Possibly.
There's only one song for when it's 'Business Time'
And that's the Flight of the Conchords...
Yum, Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords
There's something about his voice (even when he's doing comedy songs, for heaven's sake) that's utterly... ooooo.
