Back in the days of the 12" single and the like, bands would very often add on a remix,a demo or an instrumental version of the main track. On occasion, the different version might even be better than the finished song. If not, it might at least throw a different light on the way it was made, the steps the artist went through to get to the end product.

In that spirit, here's an instrumental version of "Mountain" from "At The End Of Paths Taken" by Cowboy Junkies. Anybody got similar stuff to share?

Their "version" of the phenomenal "Absolute" 12 inch has Peter Powell Radio 1 DJ legend sampled on it saying "I wanna hear the B-side". Oooooh love you!

I have nothing against Barney's voice or lyrics, but for some reason the instrumental version of "Thieves Like Us" completely outstrips the vocal version:
