Sometimes people are just brilliant....

Has already been posted on here (by Montecore on the Andrew Collins thread) but I feel that it perhaps didn't get the recognition that it deserved.

The item in question is funny enough in itself, but the 'user reviews' take it into a different stratosphere. If you have a few spare minutes, do yourself a favour and click on the 'See all 178 customer reviews...' link.

You won't be disappointed.

Did you follow the link to Adolf Hitler? You know what's coming when you do. So Funny

The Adolf Hitler comment of

"This print certainly adds a certain feeling of gravitas to my child's bedroom.

I've knocked a star off as I initially thought that it was a picture of Barry Chuckle." is priceless.

Is it an Amazon ploy?

I like the list of
"What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?"
40% buy
PAUL ROSS - 10x8 Print (25x20cm) - £6.85 Which is much cheaper and a far better concept for a joke present - which surely all of them have been bought for.
The rest
Dawn of the Dumb: Dispatches from the Idiotic Frontline
The Wire: Complete HBO Season 3 [DVD]
The Wire: Complete HBO Season 2 [DVD]
suggest that most people have been directed at the original item as a joke and go and buy something else.

Is it therefore possible that the Amazon marketing department are placing items like these and publicising them virally to get people to the site who then spend money?

Well,

they've added the Fleet Foxes album to the What Customers Also Brought list, so yes, I'd say they do.

And CiaranB is clearly an Amazon stooge.

It suggests that almost all the traffic to that item

were all directed there by the Word website.

Amazon.com

On the US site is a book discussing the longest and most celebrated Germanic Opera cycle. Yes, it is hilariously entitled "Penetrating Wagner's Ring" and it has a number of puerile reader comments which can bring on bouts of sniggering which last almost as long as the opera itself.

Quite Superb.....

Had me laughing out loud at work !!

While I'm on can I say how dire his breakfast show is on Radio London. How I long for GLR in the days of Baker/Coe/Evans/Curran etc.
