I suspect it's not so much dyed as borrowed.

The effect on most of the "after" pictures...
is like what happens after Van Helsing tears down the curtains to let the sunlight stream in. The clothes and hair remain exactly the same but the face creases and crumbles to clay.

But is that really Courtney Love in both photos? Her features look entirely different. Presumably she's had some 'work' done. Possibly by the same plastic surgeon Columbian drug lords go to to change their identities.
