QUOTE
"He who joyfully marches to music in
rank and file has already earned my
contempt. He has been given a large
brain by mistake, since for him the
    spinal cord would fully suffice."
    - Albert Einstein

The Devil may have the best tunes, but
    this clip clearly demonstrates that
    Jesus has the right moves.

30 Rock won the Emmy for best TV series
this week. There's no sign of this
appearing in the UK. When it does
British gentlemen of a certain age will
    develop debilitating crushes on Tina
Fey as producer Liz Lemon. Here's a
    taste.

    Blues Maker: terrific, occasionally
    breathtaking, 1968 documentary about
    Mississippi Fred McDowel.

BBC iPlayer Choice: The Roxy Music Story
Interesting to see how long all these
    commentators can go without pointing
out the fact that they were *sexy*. And
Paul Thompson looks like a Viz
    character.

Earl Palmer died the other day at the
age of 84. He played the drum intro on
    Little Richard's "Keep A Knockin'".
John Bonham pinched that for Led
Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll". Look how
many people have pinched that in turn.
    Respect.

WRECKLESS ERIC & AMY RIGBY - HERE COMES
    MY SHIP
    Actions sometimes have consequences. Amy
Rigby, who bills herself as "pop's
sweetest cynic", was on tour in the UK
when she launched into one of her
favourite songs, The Whole Wide World.
    Immediately afterwards she was joined
on stage by the song's author,
Wreckless Eric, in a spirited rendition
of Je T'Aime. They married earlier this
year and this is presumably their baby.
