So where's this guy been?

A friend mentioned this clever chappy from Australia this morning (me being well sussed in these matters allegedly). I've never heard of him but if you like some mean Travis Pickin' check it out.

A pedant writes..
..that's not Travis picking.
It's (very flashy) flatpicking.
He's very eager to please, is ol' Tommy.
Nicely put
Undoubtedly brilliant technically and a real crowd-pleaser.
Actually I once played in his band, backing Tiny Tim singing "Highway To Hell". But that's another story.
Come on!
We're going to need full details of that one!
Actually it's Hybrid Picking
He is playing some of the tune in straight flat-pick, but also playing with a mixture of a pick and his fingers, if you watch carefully.
Damn!
Just when I was getting to like him too! I picked up the travis pickin' thing from the reports I read about the guy. I probably will still go to see him later this year when he graces our shores. 5 million people can't be wrong probably.
Thanks for your guidance.
Dear Calf..
..no disrespect to Tommy, really.
He's a great player but he's very well-known here in Oz and he's been responsible for some dreadful Lee Ritenour style wallpaper music over the years.
If you like this stuff check out Albert Lee.
..in fact here he is..
..with old band-mate (Heads Hands and Feet) Chas Hodges doing one of their old tracks.
Thanks Shayne
I am well aware of Albert Lee. I saw him last in Glasgow recently with the Bill Wyman band but I have been a fan since HH&F days and I recall the OGWT appearances. I put Albert up there with my favourite guitarists along with the likes of Richard Thompson, Bert Jansch, Ryland P Cooder and Martin Taylor. I see that Martin is special guest with flash Tommy later this year and I would certainly count that as high praise (or maybe he's just getting loads of dosh!).
I'm just a fan, not a guitarist, but I appreciate your technical knowledge gives you an extra insight into particular styles.
Have a tube of VB on me!
