Some people just have too
Some people just have too much money
Ha!
I bought my first white label from John Manship. Blackpower by James Coit. £8.00 in 1986. A bit cheaper and probably rarer now what with every Northern compilation featuring Do I Love You these days. It's not the format, it's the music.
it is a good song
though.
seconded
a fine track indeed.
Northern Soul
Whilst I love many a tune that comes under the 'umbrella' of Northern Soul, I can't fathom why records in this category have dominated the 'record price fetched' lists for so long. To paraphrase the deeply missed Professor Julius Sumner-Miller, 'why is it so?' Please enlighten, oh wise massive. When will my Desperate Bicycles singles become family heirlooms that will guarantee my descendents great wealth and material comfort?
it comes down to
a cult/fetish of "authencity" nothing is more real than a little round totem it shows devotion to the cause the rarer the better. Also becuse it was about playing (djing) live you actually need 45's to do this. It seems to me abit like a madly enjoyable cargo cult.
Those who can't..buy.
.
Also
a lot these records were just distributed locally and therefore there aren't that many original copies
Someone should have told him
you can get it for 79p from iTunes.
