Snow pics
Posted by Niks on 2 February 2009 - 10:02am.
Does anyone love pictures of snow as much as me? I hope so. I had to dig the car out this morning and drove to work through black slush at 15 mph.
Here's the a view from the office window as I was making a round of tea. I think I'll give my planned lunchtime picnic a miss today.

What does it look like where you are?

For once...
...I enjoyed living in London this morning. A dawn trudge from Kilburn to Baker Street, hopped on a tube to Charing Cross, and walked through Westminster to the the office. It was beautiful.
Never let it be said that the public sector are lazy (he said, posting this from his work pc)!
Annoyingly, they've just told me to go home because the heating is broken. Soft southern jessies.
Only bad thing about the weather is the preponderance of Chelsea tractors. Finally your insane massive car purchase is valid!
Despite it all...
...I too enjoyed my journey in to work today.
Trudged down to the station from home this morning in almost total silence. No cars whooshing past. Just the crunch of my feet in the snow.
Miraculously trains were running. Even more so once at Paddington the Bakerloo line was operating. Got off at Waterloo and walked past the IMAX cinema - again in enveloping loneliness and silence. No traffic could be heard roaring overhead across Waterloo Bridge. Plodged along a whited-out South Bank through 6 inches of snow. Got to my desk and all the lights were off on my floor.
Felt like '28 Days Later' It was brilliant.

There's a car in there somewhere...
been out for supplies
Congrats on getting a good exposure for snow...
and making white look white! We'll forget about the top right hand corner...
I did my best
it was taken on my Mobile phone while giggling and gambling like a six year old in the snow....
You got to the office?
Well done!
Where I live, the buses are off, the tube is off, and trains are one every 2 hours instead of the usual 4 every hour.
So I'm at home, and we've just finished making a huge snowman!
Trouble is, the forecast is for more of the same, so I fear tomorrow I'm going to have to make at least an attempt at getting in.
Now, let's see if this works...
From yesterday morning.
Are you that shouty peace prostestor guy
if so you must be chilly...
Nope, but
I did see them digging their tents out of a snow drift. Have to credit the stickability there.
one suspects it's what they
do now. I think it's healthy for the PM and Mp's to get jeered at every now and then
Woods on Snowy Evening
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
=====================================
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
