Smart lines

Steve Turner's picture

The Whole of the moon was playing on radio 2 this am and although I have heard the song a million times before I stopped and thought about one line in particular and this morning more than any other morning I was really taken with the line:-

'I saw the rain dirty valley,
You saw Brigadoon
I saw the crescent,
you saw the whole of the moon'

Is the glass half full or half empty in poetry.

Lovely stuff.

Ooh scary

The same question popped into my head this morning when I heard this.

does anyone know if there is any truth

in the theory that tthe lyric is Mike Scott's appraisal of his own talent in relation to that of Prince?

That's what I

have always believed. Can't remember when I first heard that but it was a long time ago.
