Sincerest Form Of Flattery

Riccardo Gargiulo's picture

Just watched the first episode of a new "comedy" cop show called The Unusuals and witnessed the sight of the wholesale ripping off the photocopier/lie detector gag last seen in the mighty Word's favorite tv show The Wire. Which of course was in turn nicked from Homicide:Life On The Street, but that's just David Simon stealing from himself.

To be fair to the new show, they did update the tech and use a printer/scanner.

The thing is, while I can deal with the idea of some uneducated corner mope from the wrong part of Baltimore not knowing one end of a photocopier from the other, that some middle class dude in 21st century New York would fall for the same thing just don't fly.

If the rest of the show was any good I'd say Mr Simon should sue. Fortunatly I don't think it will last long.
