Silver Seas perplexion

Vulpes Vulpes's picture

Much as I'm delighted to see DH review The Silver Seas' Chateau Revenge, though I thought he'd already done that, I'm a little confused. I bought it months and months ago; it's not a new release.

Now I'm a huge fan of the band, as is DH, who must by now have both Jason Lehning's and Daniel Tashian's mobile numbers on his phone. These last 6 months or more, I've been trying to get a copy of their debut, Starry Gazey Pie, ever since I bought High Society on DH's recommendation. No luck. Nada, no can do; it simply isn't available.

So I'm rather perplexed and hoping for insight from the Gods of Word: is the recent review prompted by a new edition of Chateau Revenge? More importantly, where and when the heck do we get to be able to buy Starry Gazey Pie again?

I too picked it up months ago

on the Candyman's incessant recommendations. Albeit I got it on (paid for) download.

A quick look at Amazon says it will be released on Sep 19!.

MP3 Download

I picked up Starry Gazey Pie as an MP3 download from Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Starry-Gazey-Pie/dp/B003TVJ94U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF...

Not the CD, but at £3.99 it's a bargain.

A question of attribution

It's £3.49 on iTunes.

From the look of it, it's out of print but there are a couple of stupidly expensive copies of the CD on Amazon.

The CD release is credited to The Bees, which is what they used to be called before they ran into a spot of trouble with the UK band of the same name. The mp3-only reissue is credited to The Silver Seas though.

For fans of the band

they are playing Islington Academy on Thu 15 September. Tickets from the usual outlets

I know they were called The Bees, thanks.

I know I can buy the MP3s, too, but I'm not interested in lossy music files. I want the CD. Gimme the CD. And I've watched the opportunist prices hover around the ludicrous level on my Amazon wish-list since before the turn of the year!

Oh, and if you know where I can find a 'blue' copy of Chateau Revenge (with the acoustic versions) I'd be most appreciative of a tip-off.

But not in MP£ (sic) format, thanks.

*quietly frustrated*
