Bl**dy...
...hell. And it's actually quite fun.
Still, one can't help coming to the concludion that 'if James Last didn't exist you WOULDN'T have to invent him'...
That is genius!
I'd never heard that before. It's a shame he didn't attach two giant prosthetic warts to his cheek in tribute to the singer on the original.
Reminds me of that old joke
What's the difference between the James Last Orchestra and a cow?
A cow has the horns at the front and the arsehole at the back...
badumm tish...ayethangyew!
I actually
really like James Last - he's probably brought some of his reputation on himself through those awful non-stop party albums he did, but his ability as an arranger and orchestra leader don't deserve to be doubted. I've seen him live a couple of times and left well impressed.
His "Games That Lovers Play" album (most of which can be found on this http://open.spotify.com/album/56gJ3eXtmg7urZmmfFi2jr) is in my all-time top 10 with no irony whatsoever - a brilliant chillout album long before the term was invented - try this:

Excellent!
I predict that this guy will be huge in 2010.
That was an excellent arrangement
Seriously.
I look forward to his take on 'Space Ritual Live'
Oh go on then
I've posted it before but it is New Year's Eve and some of us have nowhere else to go except to a bottle of single malt.

Track 7 - XTC perform a tipsy version of Silver Sewing Machine.
On the James Last LP Non Stop Dancing 1973 Silver Machine is performed in a medley with Children Of The Revolution & School's Out. he's one hip cool dude for certain, er, man.
