We've got the Arse as well on Wednesday. At home.

God help us.

Messages of sympathy and understanding below, please.

Keep your fingers crossed

Nasri was rested yesterday - maybe he will be rested midweek too. As a Birmingham fan I hope you somehow get through because if we beat West Ham it would be a far more interesting and less predictable final. Dont tackle any of the Arsenal players too strongly though or Wenger will throw his arms up in the air like a maniac. Strangely he doesnt do it when his players do the same thing.

King George?

I understand Burley is out of work!

A Jewell in the crown!?

Paul Jewell to be unveiled as new ITFC manager on Monday.

I think we should do a Liverpool/Newcastle

And get Mick Mills at the helm.

Had a chat with Joe R an IPFC fan

at the London drinks and I said Ispwich were a good team back in the day and he said "so they tell me". Poor lad being born after Spandau Ballet split up the first time.

Very good.

Next!

And Joe R...

...was there today. Poor sod.

I was at the other end of London watching Spurs win again. A typical football fan, I'm still assuming the season will blow up spectacularly any time soon. But trying to enjoy it for now.

Indeed I was there

I hadn't been to an Ipswich game in around three years. Sunday wasn't really the day to start going again.

Actually, by the time it got to 5-0, it was quite good fun. There were plenty of chants of "we're gonna win 6-5" and attempts at Mexican waves. I can also recommend the Stamford Bridge Thai chicken pies.

Oh, the football? Yeah, it was embarrassing.

How many times

have Chelsea scored seven in the last year? It's incredible.

0
Johan | 9 January 2011 - 9:06pm

More than Incredible

It's every bit as spooky as Captain Underpants' stopped clock

Well having spent Saturday watching Arsenal

you could probably leave Arsenal a banjo, a barn door and set of instructions on how to hit one with the other and still not let 7 in in the semi.

Leedsboy | 9 January 2011 - 9:30pm

Gooner here -

If you do have those instructions. Please......

1
Lunaman | 10 January 2011 - 8:50am

You can have them

after the 19th.

Times are hard..

..for the loyal fans of the Super Blues.

I`m cheering myself up by reading one of my christmas presents (Thanks Mum), "1980/81 The greatest season in Ipswich Town`s history".

We should have won the treble when winning the treble really meant something. I still hate Bosko Jankovic and Aston Villa.

I am really really dreading Wednesday.

0
johnsimpson1965 | 9 January 2011 - 9:45pm

I wouldn't hate Bosko too much

was displaced during the Serbia/Kosovo conflict and died in 1993 (see bio).
Much missed at the Boro, by all accounts a real gent.

Hope Wednesday's not too much of a disaster for you though.

Try reading the live updates from today

at the same time as reading the Ipswich bits of Bobby Robson's autobiography.

skirky | 9 January 2011 - 10:09pm

who was it that said football was a funny old game?

Well done Ipswich!

heshofcheese | 12 January 2011 - 10:46pm

What's up with the Arse?

Don't seem to want to play. What a shocker!

It's the hope that kills you

I have a horrible feeling that there's a goalfest a-coming at the Emirates. That's why I am not getting too excited about this. I think we had the same thing with Inter Milan a few years ago when we won at home but then they absolutely thumped us at the San Siro.

0
Austin | 13 January 2011 - 2:26am

Didn't happen to Leeds on Saturday...

The Emirates isn't that great a fortress this season - two of the promoted teams, Newcastle and West Brom, have already won there in the PL, so you'll probably be OK.

Caps duly doffed to the Tractors for tonight's result. With that, Blackpool doing the double over Liverpool and the mighty Crawley Town seeing off Derby County on Monday night, it's been a good week so far.

0
graceunderpressure | 13 January 2011 - 3:10am

well done

tractors, more of the same at the effemirates.
