Second City Bash
Posted by Steve Turner on 6 March 2010 - 9:19am.
So far we have had London, Glasgow and Manchester shindigs arranged for the massive. I really would like to attend the London one but as it would necessitate an overnight stay and it is a week before a holiday I have to decline. In the interests of serving the Midlands community.I propose a Birmingham bash for late April or early May. Since we have the opportunity of an erstwhile ex guitarist of a Scottish punk band promising attendance if we hold it on a thursday night this is the night I am proposing unless the massive have objections to this night.
Lets show the rest of the country what a real knees up should look like. There will be a prize for the best 'Funky moped' impression.

You beat me to it.
Was thinking that we can't let this one slip, it could form a crucial part of the Brum bid for Capital of Culture. Will have to negotiate with other half re her Thurs night yoga but should be do-able. No funky moped though.

"erstwhile ex guitarist of a Scottish punk band" post punk surely?
*ahem*
I understand that the preferred term is "Jock & Roll"
Count me in Steve
Subject to the usual date related caveats.
6th May would be a good night as I'm out on the razz on the Friday afternoon.
As a naturalised YamYam it would be a pleasure to represent the Black Country at the proceeedings.
Any thoughts on venue as yet? Given the current level of responses we could hold it in a medium sized telephone kiosk.
Come on fellow Midlanders......we can rid ourselves of our reputation as dour Brummies once and for all.
