Rock stars - they're just like us
There I was, not an hour ago, idling outside my Camden Town workplace, when Robert Plant walked by.
He's unmistakable - the corksrcrew hair, the salt and pepper beard, the rock and roll denims and that voice (he was on the phone).
What really swung it, of course, was the tattered House of Fraser carrier bag. A mulit-millionaire who a) shops in HofF; and b) re-uses the bag. Or perhaps someone gave it to him.
Whatever, I wouldn't ever have expected to see Robert Plant walking the streets with a House of Fraser carrier bag.
What's the most incongruous accoutrement you've seen at rest rock and rollers with?

Elvis Costello
Elvis once came up to my till in the V&A Museum shop with a Zebra glove puppet on one hand and a roll of sheet music wrapping paper in the other. He was, of course, shopping and not engaged in some impromptu art happening.

Glasses......
All those over a certain age all wear specs off stage.........
It can look a wee bit unexpected, as their off stage glasses are usually so standard specsavers high street.
Rory
I saw a well refreshed Rory Gallagher in a pub in Chelsea holding a copy of The Times. Just looked odd (that paper that is) some how.
More Percy
I went to the Dion gig at Metro last year - Robert Plant was there and had tucked himself in a corner with a couple of cans keeping it very low key. A mate of mine runs the venue and said most of the 'heavy hitters' Plant, Page, Macca are a breeze - it's the up and comers that are a nightmare.

George michael was regulary seen with Andrew Ridgley, or boy bands and instruments, Spice girls and a tune..
Bruce Cockburn, Canadian hero
Saw him shopping in Loblaw's supermarket in Toronto. Oddly we wore the same jacket, round granny glasses and grey hair. He is a way better guitar player than me though.
