Rock & Roll Hall Of Shame

mojoworking's picture

While surfing the net to find possible entries for the "Appearances On Album Covers" thread, I landed on the site below.

There are no words to describe it except to say it triggered an entire squadron of klaxons, all of them screaming “nut job!”

You'd think he'd check the spelling at least, wouldn't you?

True, but

reading his entry on the material one, I'm going back for another listen with renewed interest.

I'm not so sure

He manages to make Madge sound interesting, which is an achievement in itself.

FGTH

Love that Frankie Goes To Hollywood "ruined Live Aid"!! Surely they ruined more than that in their "career".

Frankie Goes To Hollywood

Apparently they "ruined LiveAid". Quite an amazing feat considering they didn't actually perform at the event.

Ahh_Bisto | 6 January 2012 - 11:34am

Live Aid was ruined precisely because FGTH weren't there....

What Live Aid really needed was Paul Rutherford in full on leather man stag gyrating to Relax. I would have scheduled this just after The Cars "Drive" video for maximum impact.

Alice Cooper

"School's Out prevents mice from solving mazes"

Huh?

mojoworking | 6 January 2012 - 12:21pm

I note he's also outed Rod Stewart as bisexual

or have I missed something? I always thought the in-no-way-slightly-ridiculous gentleman preferred high maintenance blonde ladies.

Big Pants | 6 January 2012 - 12:26pm

Blimey

even Earth, Wind & Fire are infidels.

I hope he has fun with his Fiddler's Dram albums, though on second thoughts Daytrip To Bangor could be seen as encouraging rebellion and drinking.

0
Five-Centres | 6 January 2012 - 12:41pm

Brilliant!

Who knew that AC/DC stood for "Assault Christians/Destroy Christians"?

I'm scratching my head over The Smiths' satanic imagery though.

By the way, the link to his Beatles page is not to be missed. Ever wondered why Macca called an album Ram? All is revealed.

0
Lando Cakes | 6 January 2012 - 1:35pm

Pink Floyd

"lyrics about rebellion".

Then again, they've always lived life on the edge, I suppose.

0
mojoworking | 6 January 2012 - 1:08pm

What Smiths' 'satanic imagery'

is he referring to? Plenty of suicidal imagery I can think of, but satanism?

0
badartdog | 6 January 2012 - 1:28pm

The Handsome Devil

...Will Find Work For Idle Hands To Do

0
Campo | 6 January 2012 - 1:49pm

Also,

does anyone have the number for Jimmy Page's 'satanic decorator'? Does he do coving?

0
badartdog | 6 January 2012 - 1:45pm

...

...only in covens

Ahh_Bisto | 6 January 2012 - 1:56pm

That's amazing.

I love the last entry in Ozzy's catalogue of evil:

"scary face".

1
Bob | 6 January 2012 - 2:01pm

oh my giddy aunt

that is hilarious.

this fella (i'm assuming this is a male) needs to go out, take loads of drugs and get laid by one of each sex, preferably at the same time. that'll sort him out.

nickbutt66 | 6 January 2012 - 2:06pm

It's the fact this dolt

has listened to all this secular music for the sake of our souls. I bet even Cliff is on his shitlist.

0
Zanti Misfit | 6 January 2012 - 2:08pm

RAM

this is much more organised and coherent than the usual religious lunatics. they must be getting their shit together in time for the rapture.

That paul mccartney Ram stuff on his beatles page is fantastic:

"Paul McCartney produced a solo album in 1971 called "RAM." He is pictured fondling a RAM on his album cover? Why did Paul McCartney use a RAM on his album cover?"

0
paulmarshall2008 | 6 January 2012 - 2:55pm

someone needs to

explain to this guy that sometimes a goat is just a goat.

0
garyt | 6 January 2012 - 4:57pm

Wow

There really are some nutbags who claim to be Christian and clearly have been nowhere near the Bible in their lives.

Dunno whether anyone looked on the main page, but there's an outing of the NIV Bible as satanic. Because it isn't the King James version. This is a bit of a Christian in-fighting thing, but from reading it weekly, I can honestly say that the NIV is one of the beigest interpretations of them all. It should be called the New Middle Class Version or something.

But the King James version? Really? And the McCartney Ram album? Wow again. Clearly ignores the fact that there is a Ram on the cover on his sodding farm! Bah.

Also missed off Radiohead from the list. Songs about Cannibalism, depression, violence, masturbation, and "cut the kids in half", capitalism and flan. Evil? Them? hahahahaha.

badger_king | 6 January 2012 - 4:21pm

Without wishing to stir up another religious debate

I'd say that, from personal experience from when I was a Christian, most of this stuff is exactly from the Bible. I remember gloomily disposing of my Jesus & MaryChain and Nurse With Wound albums at one point, so convinced I was that I was offending our maker.

(Mind you, I never picked up on Siouxsie & Banshees' blasphemy - that's a bit lame isn't it?)

2
Douglas | 6 January 2012 - 6:51pm

Wot, no ...

Nine Inch Nails, Mayhem, Burzum? I'm making a formal complaint.

0
Douglas | 6 January 2012 - 6:53pm

Double Standards?

Helloween have the word 'Hell' in their name.
It also appears in Joni Mitchell, but is not mentioned on these pages.

No mention of Ivor Biggun, so those albums must be considered as wholesome and fit for family consumption (perhaps not!)

Schadenfreude

with apologies for spelling and absence of umlaut, if appropriate, but rather inevitably, it appears he doesn't practice what he preaches...

Carlos Santana...

"says he's been communicating with a demon named "Metatron" regularly since 1994".

Rock n' roll! More info, please!

Alan Rickman with wings

Behold the metatron!

0
badger_king | 7 January 2012 - 10:13am

He didn't list GG Allin so...

... I'm assuming he's never heard of him otherwise he would have had a field day.

Can you imagine when someone tells him what GG Allin (real name Jesus Christ Allin. Yes, really) used to get up to on stage? His head will literally explode.

0
Billybob Dylan | 7 January 2012 - 12:04am

At least none of them need take it personally

" Please understand that I don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners."

0
B Smith | 7 January 2012 - 12:32am

It does

It also offers the unconditional love of a divine creator and the sacrifice of a Saviour for anyone that wants.

So, you know, two way thing and all that.

0
badger_king | 7 January 2012 - 10:15am

Something to listen to in the same vein.

Rock 'n' Roll's Hall of Shame has missed out loads - REO Speedwagon and Huey Lewis & The News to name two!
