Road Dreams - a short film for difficult times

hermon hermit's picture

There's more like this, together with updates on the project to put all of Elloit Bristow's Road Dreams films on DVD at

http://www.retroroadtrips.com/

And if the whole project isn't an article of interest to The Word demographic, I'm not sure what is...

Now that looks interesting.

Visited the website and viewed a few others.
What a great feel the films give off.
An amazing project to undertake and I for one would buy the DVD.
Thanks for posting as I wasn't aware of this before.

I have fallen in love

with the young woman swimming in the lake. If only she were smiling for me...
Beautiful film, too. It evoked in me a strong feeling of nostalgia for settings and scenes never experienced.

Am I missing something?

I've got a lovely video of the wife and kids in North Devon in the 70s. If I put some ambient music as a soundtrack, I reckon it would compete with this nonsense.

Perhaps

if you had a "lovely video" that covered 500,000 miles and 14 years it might well compete with this.

Somehow though, I feel that if you had confined that much travelling to the confines of North Deven, you'd be heartily sick of pretty much every inch of the place by now.

It's the grandeur and longevity of the whole journey that lends each glimpse an extra dimension; its place within a much wider context.
