In spite of it's outwardly "soft rock" veneer the City to City album from whence Baker Street is a heartfelt thing of beauty without a duff track within.

but made some soaringly great music; I know there's more to his work than Baker Street, but the City to City album, and the follow-up, Night Owl were an essential part of the soundtrack to my travelling twenties; everywhere in Europe, those records were well known.

The last track of 'Can I Have My Money Back'always seemed to me to be from the heart. It is even more poignant now.

another amazing artist gone too soon - and just received news about bassist Mick Karn passing away earlier today too - not a great start to 2011 :-(
