RIP Gerard Smith

Don't know if anyone else is aware of him much around these parts, but the bassist / multi-instrumentalist Gerard Smith, from the band TV On The Radio died of lung cancer last week. I found out this morning and there didn't seem to be any other post.
Sad news for fans of the band.
(He's the chap in the check shirt behind Tunde the singer)

I heard last week he'd passed away, diagnosed with lung cancer in March and died within a month

As Fuzzy mentioned, the most shocking thing was the speed at which it happened. I had no idea he had been diagnosed until I read a piece about his death.
It seems a bit trivial to talk about music at this point, but just to say that he played on their last album, Nine Types of Light, which was fantastic and really secured their position as one of todays most consistently brilliant bands.
a real shame
and a shock. I haven't got 9TOL yet but have a couple of their albums that are well-liked.
