Shame
That's sad news indeed. He will be missed.
A great loss
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Tribute To Rick
Now that is sad
No more Floyd then.
The randomness of who we lose
is always difficult to accept, especially when the human race is awash with those of more advanced years we'd all be better off without.
Rest in peace, Rick, and thanks for all the music. Condolences to all his family and friends.
It's been
a rotten year in many ways, made worse by the loss of someone who appeared to be a decent chap. A Brit who suceeded in being a successful musician without the claptrap that lesser souls indulge in. Rest in peace.
Condolences to family, friends and band mates
This really is so, so sad. The 'quiet one' was the quintessential gentleman and he will be dearly missed. For me, seeing him on stage with Gilmour on the last DG tour and at the Royal Festival Hall was my Floyd-related highpoint of the last 30 years.
For a self-taught man he was highly under-rated, both as a keyboardist and a vocalist.
Anyway, rest in peace man. Sadly, it seems that with Rick's passing we can now also say Rest in Peace to Pink Floyd.

beautiful
thank you
God bless you Rick
May you rest in peace and thank you for all the wonderful music. The world is a lesser place without you.
On a positive note
With a such a great ivory tickler as Richard it's quite a band the Lord can call on for a gig!!
He will be sadly missed.
He will be sadly missed. His keyboards on DSOTM were something else.
The Wright Stuff
Taken from www.floydpodcast.com, here's a podcast the Doc did in November 2006 to celebrate the music of Richard Wright and the contributions he made to Pink Floyd. It's called The Wright Stuff. Enjoy it, plenty of tearjerking moments, not least 'Breakthrough' and 'Wearing the Inside Out':

Immortality
It's strange that there are some people in rock you just kind of assume will live forever - the idea of their popping off seems unrealistic. Rick Wright falls into that category. Bon voyage.
