Here goes...
Concrete & Clay - Cuddly uhm Kev
Aargh!
My eyes! My eyes!
My ears nothwithstanding.
Ver Firm
Paul Rodgers/Jimmy Page should work shouldn't it?
Not one of Dr Kaku's better moments...
if truth be told.
80s vintage
"She Wants to Dance With Me" - Rick Astley
"The Union of the Snake" - Duran Duran
"Raoul and the Kings of Spain" - Tears for Fears
"Big Apple" - Kajagoogoo
Sad
but true:
Prefab Sprout - Electic Guitars
I really like
"Electric Guitars", and the gorgeous "Andromeda Heights" album from which it comes, but wasn't "Prisoner Of The Past" the actual comeback single, if I'm not being too pedantic?
Was it? You may well be right
Dimly remember M*j* mentioning the name of the lead-off single (Electric Guitars) in their launch piece for the LP
I saw them doing the tune on that National Lottery show.
double fantasy
,
I was going to say Starting Over…
… but yeah
Betty Boo + celebrity cheesmaker = dogshit
...we waited for over 5 years
...for the follow-up to the most over-rated LP* in the world, EVER
...
...and waited
...
...and this is what we got:
No surprise to me, but the disappointment to hordes of erstwhile fanatics was palpable.
...
...
*ironically, they left one of the best ever singles (FG/WTWIWW) off the album, for some reason
Because........
It was written some 2 years after the material on the debut and bore no resemblance to the music on the album - not overrated in the slightest.
The Second Coming is horrendously underrated simply because it's not a facsimile of the debut. Best album Led Zep never wrote......
Tragically
...missing in action Über-Electro Deities, who vanished years ahead of their time...
...return, depleted, as some kind of gross self-parody.
Like embarassing Uncles dressed up for a Pantomime.
With an entirely superflous album to boot.
I found this depressingly bad (compared to their other work) at the time, in fact - struggling to think of another such eagerly anticipated LP that's been more of a let-down
...A, B, C, D Vitamine.
It was great
to have em back after Mick n Keef's major fall-out, but come on:
...was that the best they could do?
