REM complete show from 1985

Paul Cunningham's picture

Just found this on YouTube. Couple of points:
a/ it's a pretty good gig
b/ isn't there a limit on the 'length' of clips on YouTube? This is an hour and a half long

Excellent Stuff

I also saw them that year, and they were magnificent.

Fables Of The Reconstruction is such a great record.

Good Advices and Wendell Gee...it's up there with Nightswimming and Find The River as a great way to end a record.

Wholeheartedly agree

Those very two - Good Advices and Wendell Gee - always make me feel wonderfully sad in a melancholic (quite enjoying being melancholy) way. Apparently Peter Buck is immensely proud of that album's strangeness.

Was really surprised when I heard it had been recorded in Wood Green, North London. But on reflection all the songs about travel and railways and southern folklore make perfect sense now.

Great show.

I'd almost forgotten Stipey's bleached phase. Still, better than his Fat Monk look from a few months before.
