Record Fairs

Mike Todd's picture

I have permission from the lovely lady and lads in my life to go to the record fair in Middlesbrough Town Hall (I know, the glamour) tomorrow morning. And this a full week after Father's Day! Their love knows no bounds. It may be ever so slightly tragic but I'm giddy with excitement at the prospect. I haven't looked forward to a weekend so much since mid last century. Let's get ready to jumble!

Bap Kennedy

I was at a small record fair today (maybe it will have more sellers over the weekend) looking for Domestic Blues or Lonely Street by Bap Kennedy. Neither of the 2 blokes had even heard of him. They're out of print cds that can only be bought on Amazon at exorbitant prices....oh well!

I did come away with a Big Joe Turner, a T-Bone Walker and a Way Beyond Nashville compilation for £12 so it wasn't a waste.

Happy hunting!!

Domestic Blues

is about 12 quid (15.99 euros) if you buy it secondhand via the German Amazon site.

Thanks!!

I may look it up next month, having already overspent my CD budget at above record fair and on recomendations elsewhere in this blog.

Sadly,

record fairs are not what they were. When I was a teenager they were wondrous places where you could buy lavishly packaged triple album Springsteen bootlegs.

Last one I was at had nothing you couldn't get online at a fraction of the price.
