Radiohead teaser...

Emcee_Fotherington-Thomas's picture

OK after 12 years with no other mention of it anywhere ever ever ...

Is that the voice of actor Stephen Moore aka Marvin buried deep in the mix of Paranoid Android by Radiohead. He appears to be saying

"My name is paranoid/I am an android"

Is this actually Stephen? He doesn't appear to be credited on the headache-inducingly small sleeve notes "We hope you are OK,thank you for listening". Did he drop into Air studios?

Having listened yet again with bass turned down I am now wondering if it could also be the Hawking-esque text-speech engine used on Fitter, Happier.

Somebody help me out here please!

No Stephen Moore

As you suggested, it's the same voice generator that's used on Fitter Happier. You have the right words I reckon.

I'd bet that it isn't...

... (though I might not be prepared to pay up). The voice of Marvin is much deeper. It's much likelier to be one of the band, would be my thought.

I know for a fact that

the voice on Fitter Happier is Yorke's. So I suspect it is his voice on PA, too.

It's Fred!

Do you mean the robot voice? It's 'Fred', one of the standard text-to-speech voices that comes with Macs.

Not quite...

the lyrics are:

"I may be paranoid but not an android"

Ah yes...

Had a listen now to the right track. It sounds like Fred too (particularly that little digital 'swoop' at the end of the phrase)

'Radiohead teaser'

an oxymoron, no?

(sorry)

A tautology...

... , surely?
