Radio Paradise

billyous's picture

I've mentioned them before, but I think it is a marvelous radio station. Great sound quality, no ads, minimal DJ=speak (every 4 or 5 tracks "you're listening to Radio Paradise"), VERY eclectic.

Here's a playlist example:

They playlist Eva Cassidy

I'll give them a miss for the moment.

I see your point

I stopped watching BBC1 because Adrian Chiles has been known to appear on one of their programmes.

I find that there's

more of a chance I'll discover something new that I'd consider buying than if I do a "random" on Spotify.

Good recommendation...

...I'll be dipping in. Thanks.

I'm currently delighted that Sean Rowley's Joy of Music show which was dumped from BBC London last year has re-emerged on BBC Kent. CAn't like everything, but there's always something I like that I have never heard/something I remember I like, etc.

Joy Of Music

Just listening to the latest show now. He was always a great source of new music and so far he's turned up trumps (for me at least) with a Welsh outfit called Colorama (http://www.myspace.com/coloramasound)and some rather handy new stuff from Richard Swift.

Swift

I'm also listening now, and Richard Swift is on my 'must check out' list. Not so great for bank balance, mind.

Think I'll pass

I see Miles Davis at 49 and Billy Preston at 54. There may, of course, be others whose names I don't recognise but this looks at first glance – how do you put this politely – a bit pallid.
