Dismal

10 out of 30. And one of those I didn't get (Pat Metheny's "Offramp") I only bought a few weeks ago. Another great quiz, though!

Paul Vincent | 23 June 2008 - 2:57pm

Sob

only 11.

Vulpes Vulpes | 23 June 2008 - 5:52pm

ok

16 for me. Happy i didn't get the pat metheney one.Anyone honestly get the Boomtown Rats ?

paul beard | 23 June 2008 - 6:18pm

Honestly...

...I got the Boomtown Rats. Didn't get the Clash, Magazine or Springsteen, albums I actually own.

Dr.Robert | 23 June 2008 - 9:48pm

Mondo Bongo?

Anybody *not* get that, considering the title was visible in the photo...?

Paul Vincent | 23 June 2008 - 11:21pm

a paltrey

12

bingham | 23 June 2008 - 9:08pm

Not Bad

15 correct artists & titles. I am counting Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel because stricly speaking it was self titled.

2 correct artists wrong title Killing Jone & Roxy Music plus two artists with no title.

GunsOfBrixton | 23 June 2008 - 9:57pm

21 right...

not too bad.

Patrick Crowther | 24 June 2008 - 12:23pm

18 right

Didn't get any where I recognised the artist but couldn't recall the album title.

CarlP | 24 June 2008 - 1:16pm

15

great quiz - again, thanks to whoever it is puts the time and effort in - I think the selections are always bob on - just enough you know straight off the bat, a few you're *sure* you know just give it time - and the rest you *want* to know the answer to, or are genuinely surprised when the answer is revealed (Japan for me this time!).

badartdog | 24 June 2008 - 1:18pm

Dear god

I scored 6, having identified but failed to fill in the entry for Steely Dan's - Gaucho. A harsh examiner would probably also knock off half a mark for 'Debbie' Harry (as opposed to Deborah).

backwards7 | 24 June 2008 - 3:37pm

27 out of 30

27 out of 30

Pat Metheny, The Specials and the Stones were my downfall (I could have sworn that was Vini Reilly out of the Durutti Column rather than Ron Wood).

Andy Lynes | 24 June 2008 - 4:45pm

17 right

Easily my best score yet. Always thought of the seventies as "my decade" but this may prove that it is actually the eighties (sniff, sob...)

Stephen G | 24 June 2008 - 9:03pm

19

...and kicking myself for the ones I should have known but didn't get (Steely Dan, Split Enz, Iron Maiden). Impressed even myself my recognising Young Marble Giants!

RamblinMan | 25 June 2008 - 9:04am

24-ish out of 30

Missed out on LKJ, Neil Young, Bruce, Pat Metheny & the Stones, and gave myself half each for getting the titles of the Young Marble Giants & Public Enemy albums wrong... felt very smug about getting the "+" (as opposed to "&") in Roxy Music's "Flesh + Blood" so I consider it a moral victory :)

Nice to see the Boomtown rats album - I won that in a Smash Hits competition, happy days!

Metal Mickey | 25 June 2008 - 11:46am

Late entry

21. Should have got Ultravox and Iron Maiden. Not a prayer with the others I missed, though.

Larry Heliotrope | 30 June 2008 - 10:44pm

This is the hardest one, IMO

18, including a couple of wild stabs in the dark that improbably came off.

Proper.

Stuart Thomson | 9 July 2008 - 9:02am

11 - could do better

My first go, I'll have to try the other decades...

Azeem | 9 July 2008 - 10:37pm

Modest 18

Mistook Japan for Thin Lizzy's Thunder and Lightning. All those years of spending my pocket money on on Pop music magazines may not have been misspent after all...

Browner | 9 July 2008 - 11:12pm

Yep

Exactly the same here. Got the piss ripped out of me at work until I showed them the Lizzy one.

A few reluctant "OK - fair enough"s came my way after that.

Well Vindicate.

Stuart Thomson | 12 July 2008 - 11:18am

lightning strikes

anyone else think that the japan cover was thin lizzy's thunder and lightning - they are similar, honest !! only 10 correct

gavinedwards | 11 July 2008 - 1:27am

Flattered?

Word's been ripped off (again)! Have a look at this "new" game on music blog Popdose:
http://popdose.com/cover-me-game-one/

The fact that they use the same Boomtown Rats cover in theirs is particularly obnoxious.

MokoLoco | 2 August 2008 - 1:42am

And...

Roxy Music.

Patrick Crowther | 2 August 2008 - 7:01am
