This is quite good

I like this because:
* Black Kids is the best name for a group I've heard in a while
* The sentiment of the song "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend" is one of those thoughts whose hour has come
* It reminds you just how influential the Cure have been

"Influenced by"???

They sound that similar, it's possible that "nicked from" would be more accurate. The main difference that I can see is that it sounds more teen-oriented. Not bad, but could do without the girly bit...

I like "the girlie bit"

My motto is "more girlie bits".
It's the universal prescription.

Big "girlie bits"

Refreshing to see the young lasses have a 'slow metabolism.' Too many waif-like wonders these days. Hahrumpf.

James EB | 30 March 2008 - 5:26pm

Waif-like?

Like Duffy, The Magic Numbers (well, half of them) and Adele?

spikeyboy | 30 March 2008 - 6:26pm

Careful

The Magic Numbers might read that.

It's extremely well done...

The Cure seem to have been rather forgotten in recent years, it's nice to know that they've been 'influencing' young bands.

am I missing something

but why his he singing "ever since I was a little girl?" cos I doubt he was ever a girl, little or otherwise.

More new Robert Smithesqueness

This guy has the mannerisms but not so much the voice. Musically there is a Cure influence I would say. I like it.

But now he has gotten over it and I think this is really brilliant.

Deserves to be a hit.

Splendid

World does not have enough top quality pop I reckon.
